Dr. Elysa Green: Turning Adversity Into Purpose, Power, and Public Impact

Some women wear resilience quietly. Others transform it into a movement that empowers everyone around them. Dr. Elysa Green has done both.

A visionary leader, community advocate, and creative force, Dr. Green has spent her life redefining what it means to rise after life’s unexpected challenges. Her story is not simply one of achievement — it is a testimony of reinvention, courage, and unwavering purpose.

Rooted in the values of family, legacy, and excellence, Dr. Green has always carried the responsibility of being a trailblazer. Coming from a close-knit family, she understood early on the importance of creating a life that not only reflected success, but significance. Through every chapter of her journey, she has remained committed to making an impact that extends far beyond herself.

When widespread layoffs during the 2008 economic crisis disrupted industries across the country, Dr. Green found herself facing an uncertain future. Rather than allowing disappointment to define her, she chose reinvention. Fresh off earning her Bachelor of Business Administration degree, she continued her educational journey and pursued a master’s degree, determined to create new opportunities for herself and others.

But even during seasons where doors did not immediately open professionally, her passion for community never wavered.

Fueled by a deep love for youth development and creativity, Dr. Green founded Teen Expressions, a nonprofit organization designed to cultivate the talents of young people interested in the arts, culinary arts, fashion design, film, and video production. Through mentorship, exposure, and hands-on experiences, Teen Expressions became a safe space where creativity and confidence could flourish.

One of the organization’s signature events, I Am Style, showcased the talents and accomplishments of participating youth while celebrating artistic expression within the community. Scholarships were awarded to deserving students, helping many take the next step toward their dreams.

Though Teen Expressions is currently on hiatus, the impact of the program continues to live on through the lives it changed and the relationships it cultivated.

As the world shifted during the pandemic, Dr. Green once again recognized a need — this time within the creative industry. Understanding that visibility and exposure remain some of the greatest barriers for emerging creatives, she launched the I Am Style Agency, a platform designed to provide guidance, exposure, and opportunities for aspiring artists and entrepreneurs seeking to elevate their brands and talents.

Yet perhaps one of Dr. Green’s most powerful acts of leadership came through her own personal vulnerability.

After battling alopecia and other health challenges, she made the bold decision to publicly shave her head and embrace her beauty unapologetically. What could have been a private struggle became a public statement of strength, self-acceptance, and freedom.

Through this journey, Dr. Green transformed pain into purpose by founding Bald Bozz Beauty, an initiative dedicated to alopecia awareness and empowerment through style, health, and education. By courageously sharing her story, she has inspired countless women to redefine beauty on their own terms and embrace confidence beyond societal expectations.

Dr. Elysa Green represents what it means to evolve with grace while remaining anchored in purpose. Her journey is proof that setbacks do not have the final say — resilience does.
